C.M.A.S. - (inglise k.: CONFEDERATION MONDIALE DES ACTIVITES SUBAQUATIQUES)
Saksa Föderaalse Vabariigi, Belgia, Brasiilia, Prantsusmaa, Kreeka, Itaalia Monaco, Portugali, Šveitsi, Am. ühendriikide ja Jugoslaavia esindajad kohtusid 28.septembril 1958.a. Brüsselis, arutamaks ülemaailmse allveetegevust ühendava organisatsiooni loomist. Selle kohtumise tulemusena toimus 9.,10., ja 11. jaanuaril Monacos kohtumine, mille ajal kirjutati alla dokumendile "Ülemaailmse Allveetegevuse Konföderatsiooni" (lühendatult CMAS) loomisest. This Confederation succeeded, specifically in regard to all functions and responsibilities, the "Comité des Sports Sous-Marins" (Underwater Sports Committee) of the International Confederation of Sport Fishing founded on the 22nd of February 1952.
Today there are 3 different commities: scientific committe (archeology), sport committe (apnoe, finswimming, u/w orienteering, u/w hockey, photo-video, u/w rugby, spearfishing, targetshooting) and technical committe (standards, rules, regulations).
